Q:
What is a "MFSAB"? |
A:
"MFSAB" stands for Multi Function School Activity Bus. The MFSAB
is designed and constructed to school bus standards, and are made primarily
to replace 12-15 passenger vans, and give daycare / childcare providers,
YMCA's, YWCA's, Boy / Girl scouts, Private Schools, Churches, and many
other organizations, the safest vehicle for sale to transport children
in.
|
| Q: Is my 15 passenger van really that unsafe? |
A:
NHTSA (The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) has now issued
its 4th warning to all the owners of 12-15 passenger vans, warning them
of the risks of driving the vans.
|
| Q: So NHTSA issued 4 warnings, why should I listen to them? |
A:
NHTSA is the organization that makes the car manufacturers (such as Ford,
Dodge, GMC, Chevrolet, Toyota etc.) recall parts and vehicles, they are
also the ones that give out crash test ratings and rollover ratings.
|
| Q: But isn't a van safer because it has seat belts? |
A:
Plain and simple, no. Actually all MFSAB's are required to have seatbelts.
The Multi Function School Activity Bus also uses school bus "compartmentalization"
which has been proven to be extremely effective in the even of a crash.
The Valet (and the Kidette in 2006) MFSAB comes standard with Safeguard seats which incorporate 3 point belts for every passenger, and 2 frames in each MFSAB seat to help lessen the impact on passengers in the even of a crash. This makes them the safest vehicles in America!
|
| Q: What does NHTSA think about a MFSAB? |
A:
NHTSA calls MFSAB's (& school buses) the safest form of transportation
that exists, "It's our recommendation that children should only be
transported in these vehicles." is there exact quote! |
| Q: I am not sure, has anyone tested the Kidette / Valet? |
A:
Yes! The Kidette and Valet Multi Function
Buses are the only MFSAB's that have been "Altoona Tested" for
7 Years / 200,000 miles!
|
| Q: What is "Altoona Tested"? |
Altoona is the Federal Governments bus safety & testing division.
They run the Multi Function School Activity Buses through multiple tests
such as, durability, ease of repair, longevity, among numerous other tests.
It is required for large buses, but small buses such as the Kidette and
Valet are not required to be tested.
We have tested Multi Function School Activity Buses at our own expense and Altoona gave it their 7 Year / 200,000 mile approval this is an approval usually reserved for large buses twice as expensive as our activity buses for sale!
|
| Q: What if I get a Kidette or Valet and it rolls over, what protection do I have then? |
A:
It is highly unlikely that the MFSAB will rollover. However, if it does,
each and every Kidette & Valet have a minimum of 5 continuous metal
beams that run from the floor on one side of the bus, over head, to the
floor on the other side of the bus. This creates a virtually crush proof
MFSAB, and is designed to keep all the passengers inside safe.
|
| Q: I can drive a van, but how hard is it to drive a Kidette of Valet? |
A:
Both the Kidette and Valet Multi Function School
Activity Bus drive and handle just like a van, and with the addition
of extra mirrors is actually easier to drive than a normal van. If you
can drive a van, you will have no trouble driving a bus!
|
| Q: I really want to get a Kidette / Valet but I don't know if we can afford it? |
A:
We work with several financing companies and we can custom make a package
for you so that you can enjoy the benefits of a MFSAB and not break the
bank!
|
| Q: We use vans right now, what options do I have to get a MFSAB? |
A:
We accept trade-ins, we will appraise your van and tell you what we can
give you in trade toward the purchase of a new MFSAB!
|
| Q: Isn't a Kidette / Valet much more expensive than a regular van? |
A:
The initial cost of a Kidette / Valet is $3000 to $5000 more than a van.
However, both the Kidette & Valet have a significantly longer road
life and are less expensive to maintain than a van. Also both the Kidette
and Valet can hold more passengers and luggage
than a van, so per passenger and per mile transportation costs are much
less than a van.
You will most likely also find that the cost of insuring a Kidette / Valet is less than that of insuring a van.
|
Q:
I want one! How long will it take for you to deliver it? |
A: If you have chosen
a Kidette / Valet
that we have in stock, you will be very happy to hear that we can have
it delivered to you in as little as 2 days! If you need something that
we don't have in stock, we can order it for you and have it in as little
as 2-3 weeks!
